What Our Customers Think

Fantastic villa and pool

Villa Tranquillity is amazing. It is very spacious and wonderfully decorated throughout. There are so many terraces with views to relax on. We were attracted by the size of the magnificent pool, the largest we had found!

We loved the privacy, the large grounds, the grapes hanging down from the large pergola shading the huge outdoor eating area.

Kalkan is only 10 minutes drive (although a very windy one) so very convenient and easy to reach. We appreciated returning to the villa after an evening out; the air was cooler and less humid in the hills.

I could go on and on...

John is a great host. He is very helpful and responsive. He provided us with lots of information on local area, amenities, things to do etc.

We hope we can return next year!

When we arrived we all said “Wow”

What a lovely villa and position, it’s very private and not overlooked by other villas unlike all the ones in Kalkan town, also it’s just far enough away from the hustle bustle to be heavenly peaceful by the pool in the day and yet close the enough to go and dine or drink in the evenings.

We have rented many villas in various countries but we all agree this is the best by far. The size of the spring fed pool is huge and the furniture is very nice and tasteful, none of the plastic tables and chairs that you get in some rental properties.

There is lots to see and do in the area but it is difficult to tear yourself away from the villa.

We are planning to go back again very soon and can’t recommend it highly enough.

A wonderful retreat with spectacular views to the sea

Friends & myself have very happy memories of our stay in September.

The Villa is beautifully decorated and full of character with spectacular views down to the sea.

Laze around Pool side on the many sun loungers provided ,eat alfresco around the large table on the picturesque terrace, prepare local produce in the well equipped kitchen, relax in the open plan lounge, sleep sound on very comfy beds - it has everything you need for a luxury holiday and much more!

There are a few local restaurants and convenience shops nearby and a short drive to Kalkan - with many more great restaurants, bars & shops.

There’s also many interesting places to visit in the area - wonderful beaches, historical places and other pretty towns .there’s plenty to see & do ...... or just relax at Villa Tranquillity a Truly tranquil place!

Ruya gibi bir tatildi!

Villanin manzarasindan esyalarina, konumunun ozelliginden, bahcesine her sey mukemmel otesiydi. Kendinizi gercekten butun sorunlardan uzakta dogayla bas basa hissediyorsunuz.

A perfect family holiday

Our second stay at Villa Tranquillity was even better than the first -which we didn't think would be possible! Once again, the splendid pool, fantastic bedrooms, comfortable balcony with marvellous views of the sea, made it tempting to just stay put. We did drag ourselves away for some wonderful trips to the many interesting and beautiful places within easy reach by car -Kekova, Phellos, Patara, Tlos, Saklikent, Xanthos....we could go on. Returning for a relaxed barbecue by the pool was a delight.

We have recently spent a week at Villa Tranquillity. We have actually stayed at the Villa a number of times and each year it just gets better and better!

Firstly the location of the Villa is stunning. Set in the mountains near the local village of Islamlar the scenery is amazing and you are relatively undisturbed in your own private space.

The Villa itself is pure luxury, decorated to a high standard and is equipped with everything you would need for your stay. Every detail of its interior and decor has been thought of and it would certainly beat any hotel I have stayed in!

The Villa is spacious with 6 bedrooms (3 doubles, 3 twins – 4 bedrooms are en-suite) and even a gym room at the top. Every room is again beautifully decorated with furniture, plenty of wardrobe space, dressing tables, en-suite bathrooms and air con.

The pool is fantastic with sunbeds/umbrellas and we absolutely love the patio eating area underneath the grape vines where we spent many evenings eating and chilling.

The Villa has balconies off the lounge area, two bedrooms and top floor bedroom/gym area where you can also relax, eat or soak up some sun.

Islamlar has a number of local restaurants to choose from (if you call them they will often come and pick you up) but it also only a short drive away to the nearest Town of Kalkan (10 minutes) where you can find shops, supermarkets and many restaurants to choose from.

You could easily spend your whole holiday just relaxing in the villa, sunbathing by the pool – though there is lots to do in the surrounding area should you want to do some exploring! If you want any ideas – please get in touch!

The place is perfect for a group of friends/families and we will definitely be returning again. One week is just never enough!

We are a group of 11 (3 families) and we had a fantastic two week stay at Villa Tranquillity. We have all stayed in numerous villas over the years and we were in agreement that Villa Tranquillity was the best villa we have stayed in. Firstly, the villa is spotless inside and out. The villa is extremely well equipped and the owners seem to have thought of everything. There is a large water cooler in the kitchen which is an added bonus and saves having to buy lots of bottles. The fridge by the pool is handy for keeping the beers cool! We never had a problem (and we certainly have in other villas we have stayed in!) with hot showers. There was plenty of hot water for 11 people having showers every night. The air con was very effective. Islamlar is a great location for exploring the area. The joy of being in the mountains is that it was noticeably cooler which in July was very welcome. There are several restaurants within a five minutes drive and one that is a few minutes walk which we ate at several times and the children visited in the afternoons for milkshakes. We preferred the restaurants in Islamlar as they were considerably cooler and cheaper! Nothing negative to say - a great holiday from start to finish. Will definitely go back.

Really welcoming and excellent quality villa. Best kept pool we ever have had -no insects to fish out due to great system and care! Super views and friendly local amenities.

My husband and I my best friend and her husband all stayed at the Villa Tranquillity in the last week in June. Firstly one week was definitely not long enough at this magnificent place!! We arrived just as the sun was setting so we got to appreciate the amazing views as we pulled into the gated villa we all looked on from the Garden over the infinity pool down into the pretty bay of Kalkan and its twinkling lights. The Villa is set back into the Taurus Mountains and it was incredibly peaceful and tranquil……. It really was Heaven on Earth.

The Property itself was breath taking and done to an extremely high standard and had some really beautiful Turkish authentic pieces you automatically felt like you were in a 5* Boutique Hotel. It was luxurious, clean, spacious, comfortable and everything you dream of and more. It sleeps 12 (5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms). Rooms on the front of the villa all have balconies (and not just little ones!!) and also there are patios with lovely areas to eat outside and a comfy seating area to take in the views and relax with a Efes or 2. Also by the pool there is a lovely dining area set under the grape vines where we had a few BBQ’s and relaxed taking in the surroundings… we really enjoyed this.

The booking process was very easy and straightforward and when we arrived we were greeted by a friendly neighbour who showed us round and how to use all the appliances etc. She was also very helpful at recommending what we could do with our week’s stay at the villa and surrounding areas.

There was lots of things we all wanted to do but a week just wasn’t long enough as we really wanted to stay and appreciate the villa some days. We did however go to Saklikent to the gorge walk which takes about 45mins each way but it really is worth it to get to the fresh waterfall at the end, Its hard going but lots of fun and I managed it at 25 weeks pregnant. So would recommend this for adventurous people. At the end we stopped at one of the cafes by the water for Turkish coffee and Pancakes which is definite a must!

Another definite must do is Patara Beach – this is a nature reserve so its unspoilt by hotels being built around it and commercial shops, food places, bars etc. This was our favourite beach.

Kalkan centre is very pretty with its winding cobble streets lined with traditional Turkish shops and few touristy bits inbetween there is lots of nice bags and jewellery for the ladies!! We ate out 3 nights and for great food with excellent service we recommend ‘Aubergines’ a little more expensive than some of the other restaurants but worth every penny.

We will hopefully be booking for next year too 🙂

“If you need a 4 or 5 bed villa in the Kalkan area then book Villa Tranquillity! It has everything going for it. You should be able to establish from the web site its impressive size, fabulous location and the fact that it has proper swimming pool. What you cant know is the “whow” factor when you open the front door. Or the fact that even the bed sheets are special and there is a excersise room on the top floor. These discoveries constanly appear through out the villa and add up to a really wonderful experience.”

by Nick, Sandy on Villa Tranquillity

“Kalkan and the surrounding area are beautiful but not as beautiful as this amazing villa. The area and views were out of this world and words can not describe the villa. It has been built and decorated to a very high standard and we all loved the pool. Eveyone was so very friendly, restaurants all very good and lots of places to see and explore. You must go into Kalkan at night for a meal at the Aubergine which looks over the harbour, very good food and excellent service. We will be back next year.”

"My family and i had the most wonderful holiday there are lots of beautiful places to go and we went to some of them, we want to go back next year and the year after that so we can go to the rest of them. My 12 year old daughter said she felt like a princess in that palace of a house (villa). We also swam with the dolphins, the people in kalkan are so friendly and helpful, the food and resturants are a delight, the local shops are good, markets are even better for fresh veg and fruit we made some lovely meals at the villa.our one neighbour was very kind and helpful we only had to ask.the whole place is so beautiful they really have thought of everything so you can just chill out. I have to say next time we need to go for longer.”

by Josie, Leicester on Villa Tranquillity

“The house and views are magnificent the rooms very spacious, the pool and gardens very well kept. The kids loved the size of the pool. we had a very relaxing time there. we hired a car and traveled around a lot. Kalkan is a beautiful town with lots of shopping and nice restarants. but to come back to a lovely holiday home made the hoilday. We all wanted to stay another week. I would recomend this house to anybody who wants a home from home feel on holiday. Downside – none”

Incredibly peaceful and incredibly relaxing

“The villa was perfect. We had a great time and the villa is situated in a fantastic position, being a little up the mountains kept the temperature down a little and made for a wonderful stay. The furniture and quality of the villa is one of the best that I have ever stayed in and it really does make a difference, the kids loved the fact that there was a tv and dvd player and they broke up some of the days. The pool is fantastic, it was a welcome relief to cool off from the hot sun and the fact that it is filled with the local spring water was fantastic. We have been to Turkey before, but found Kalkan and the villa the best places we have stayed. The views were incredible and the fact that the villa is situated a little out of the way, was superb, it was incredibly peaceful and incredibly relaxing. The personal touches and photos you leave around the house reminded everyone that this was a home and I think made the villa an incredibly friendly place to stay. If I were to return to Kalkan again, I would have no hesitation in renting the villa again, it was by far the best that we saw. Can I thank you very much for making our stay a memorable one and we are incredibly envious of your wonderful home. I hope that we will get another opportunity to stay at Villa Tranqillity and thanks again for your hospitality.”

The best villa in Turkey

“This was our third visit to Turkey and this villa is by far the best we have found. The villa itself is beautiful with lots of thought and care gone into each room. Fantastic bedrooms with great views. We went as two families and there was just so much space for everyone. As for the surroundings -every day we looked from the villa to the views of the mountains around us and the sea below and couldn’t believe just what a fantastic position this villa is in. It is also in a good location for lots of activities. During our week we canoed down the River Xanthos to the sea, hired a boat for a day, went to the Saklikent Gorge, went to Kalkan (10 mins away) to eat by the harbour, visited Lycean ruins at Xanthos and also enjoyed just staying at home relaxing by the pool and exploring the local villages. If we return to Turkey next year we would definitely rebook this villa – for 2 weeks!

Absolutely Stunning

“I cannot reccommend this villa highly enough. Everything from the gates to light fittings have been done to the highest standards. It truly is the most beautiful villa, in the most stunning location, and I can’t imagine there is anything else even close to this one anywhere on the coast. From the moment you enter you feel at home, as there are so many personal touches, and it is also nice to gaze at the ornaments and curiosities that are placed here and there in the villa. Whether you are sunning youself by the expanse of the swimming pool, or taking refuge in the coolness of the villas archways, this villa begs you not to leave. The views are truly breath-taking as you gaze down the mountain to the fishing village and harbour that is Kalkan, and to the islands beyond! Spending a holiday here was like going to a health spa – sun, mountain air, fresh bread and produce from the nearby stores and bizarres – you go home feeling like a king! I won’t bother looking to better this one next year – just going to book again.”
